FOXNWOLF COMMENT ON 13TH JULY 2009

I have today received an article via email concerning the "Shopkeeper" who wishes to support H4H.

Has the "PC" gone mad, why would Bolton Council ban this individual from supporting H4H. I have posted this "mission" on my website at http://www.foxnwolf.com and various others sites I own and operate. We supported the Keir Hardie story and also the Joe Townsend debacle and we are going to support this unexcusable fiasco.

And kindly tell the Lloyds bank staff to grow up and get a grip. "Trauma re a bank hold up".......lol Imagine the Trauma of seeing your mates flying through the air like Confetti when a mine goes off under their ass.

ALAN NICHOLSON COMMENT ON 13TH JULY 2009

My attention has just been drawn to an article dated 9 July where your council is threatening prosecution toward a shopkeeper who has posed
a figure wearing a British uniform outside his premises in order to raise awareness and funds for "Help for Heroes".

The gentleman shopkeeper does not seem to have an ethnic British name. One of the comments on the 'Once a Marine' page where I read the article
reads as follows ......

"Every member of HM Armed Forces who has served in the Iraq/Afghanistan could complain that every time they see a person in middle eastern type clothing they get flashbacks. If the Council/Government indulge the bank workers they have to indulge our boys and girls!"

I quite agree.

The actions of Bolton Council illustrate amply why I am no longer a British Citizen. Perhaps a copy of photographs from the North Devon Branch of the Royal Marines Association showing their larger than life model, otherwise identical to the one giving offence to your Council, which raises funds for the Help for Heroes cause, would convince you that you are out of order in threatening this gentleman.

I commend the action of this shopkeeper and endorse the cause.

I hope to read of your retraction of prosecution.

BOLTON NEWS COMMENT ON 13TH JULY 2009

Thanks for the email. The shopkeeper has been told he can keep the dummy now as he has moved it from the pavement and onto his shop doorstep.
We did a couple of stories in The Bolton News last week. Did you see them? If there is anything new to this story, please let me know.
Keep in touch. Always pleased to know about new stories.
Thanks

STILL RECEIVING EMAILS THAT "BOLTON COUNCIL" ARE IGNORING EMAILS/CALLS/FAXES

Gun shop’s dummy can remain on show

GOOD INTENTIONS: Hamid Shahabi with the military figure that caused complaints when it was displayed outside his shop

A GUN shop owner has won his battle to keep a dummy dressed as a soldier outside his shop.

Hamid Shahabi was told to move the mannequin by Bolton Council because it was upsetting Lloyds TSB bank staff, who said it was giving them flashbacks to a recent armed robbery.

But now the council has come to a compromise, saying the dummy, called Darren, displayed outside the Arms and Outdoors shop, in Halliwell Road, Halliwell, can stay.

Mr Shahabi said: “I am delighted and I’m glad they have seen the light.

“But I wish they had come to speak to me before all this started — I was very upset when I got the letter.”

Mr Shahabi said he sympathised with bank staff but his soldier would stay outside the shop as a tribute to British troops.

He said: “It must have been terrifying for the bank staff but if the bank was robbed by men in suits, they wouldn’t ban people from wearing suits nearby.

“Darren is here to stay. I want to raise awareness for Help the Heroes and he is a reminder of the brave troops who put their lives on the line in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

The council said it took the decision because the soldier was no longer on the pavement and now looked “less threatening”.

A spokesman said: “When the officer visited the premises, the dummy was dressed in dark clothing, with a black balaclava pulled down over its head and it did not have anything attached to it supporting British troops.

“The location of the dummy is no longer an enforcement matter because the shop owner has moved it off the highway following our letter.”

The bank in Halliwell Road was targeted in February when three masked men charged into it with a sledge-hammer, crowbar and another weapon.”

No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the attack.

Lloyds TSB declined to comment.
